The gem form of the mineral olivine, peridot ranges in color from a yellowish green to a deep olive green, and boasts good durability at 6.5 - 7 on the Mohs scale.Much of todays peridot comes from Arizona. Other areas include Pakistan, Burma, China, Brazil, and Tanzania.
